Sensex trades flat during pre-noon session
Mumbai – A benchmark index of Indian equities markets! was trading flat at 82.18 points or 0.39 percent down in the pre-noon trade Tuesday.
Good buying was seen in IT sector. Selling pressure was observed in banking index (bankex), capital goods and power sectors.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,293.58 points, was trading at 21,244.24 points in the pre-noon session, down 82.18 points or 0.39 percent from previous day’s close at 21,326.42 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,327.75 points and a low of 21,218.71 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE IT surged 170.48 points. However, bankex shrunk by 263.79 points, capital goods index dropped by 365.73 points and power index slipped by 81.50 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also surged and was trading down by 36.95 points or 0.58 percent at 6,326.95 points.
