Tallinn – Public institutions and many families in Estonia Sunday raised their national flag with blac! k ribbons, mourning Lativia for a supermarket tragedy which has so far ! caused over 50 deaths.

The Estonian government made the decision Friday, calling on its people to show support to Latvia by flying mourning flags, reported the Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR).

The death toll from the supermarket roof collapse in the Latvian capital Riga Thursday has risen to 54, with the chance of finding more survivors fading.

The supermarket, built in 2011, belongs to the Lithuanian-owned Maxima chain, the second largest retailer in the country.

Latvia Saturday began three-day mourning over the tragedy, which is the worst accident in the Baltic country in over 20 years.

Lithuania, another Baltic state, also flew flags mourning the tragedy Sunday.
