How can Modi make history when he doesn’t know Mahatma Gandhi’s first name: Sibal
Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) – Communications and Information Technology (IT) Minister Kapil Sibal on Thursday mocked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for mispronouncing Mahatma Gandhi’s first name, and said someone who is ignorant of Gandhiji’s first name wants to become the prime minister of the country.
“The one who has no idea about history, how can he create history? Someone who does not even know Gandhiji’s full name wants to be the next PM of India? He hasn’t even apologized that he doesn’t know Gandhi’s name,” he told media here today.
While addressing a rally in Rajasthan on Tuesday, Modi referred to Mahatma Gandhi as ‘Mohanlal’ and not Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
“Towards the end of his life, Mahatma Gandhi had a wish which was not fulfilled. Would you fulfill that wish? Would you fulfill Gandhi’s wish? Mohanlal Karamchand Gandhi…” Modi said.
