Cameron makes ground breaking phone call to Hassan Rouhani
London – British Prime Minister David Cameron made a ground breaking phone call to Iranian president Hassan Rouhani.
The move from Cameron is the first of its kind from a British Prime Minister in more than a decade.
According to the Daily Express, Number 10 revealed that Cameron spoke to Rouhani with the help on an interpreter for 25 minutes.
The talks came ahead of negotiations in Geneva later this week over Tehran’s nuclear ambition.
A Downing Street spokesman said that the two leaders discussed the bilateral relationship between Britain and Iran welcoming the steps taken since Rouhani took office, including the appointment of non-resident Charges d’Affaires last week.
Cameron also underlined the necessity of Iran comprehensively addressing the concerns of the international community about their nuclear programme, the report added.
