London – A massage parlour receptionist has told a jury how she ordered Manchester United star Wayne Rooney to leave before he destroyed his career after newspaper stories emerged about his suggested use of prostitutes.

According to the Mirror, Patricia Tierney said she was concerned for the England star following newspaper stories that he had paid to have sex with her at the Liverpool parlour in 2004.

Notes made by private investigator Glenn Mulcaire, who has admitted phone hacking for the News of the World, showed he was investigating Rooney at the time, the report said.

Former News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks, 45, David Cameron’s ex-spin doctor Andy Coulson, 45, former NoW head of news Ian Edmondson, 44, and ex-managing editor Stuart Kuttner, 73, are all accused of conspiring with others to hack phones between October 3, 2000 and August 9, 2006, the report added.

Former NoW and Sun editor Brooks is also accused of conspiring with others to commit misconduct in public office, linked to alleged payments to public officials, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, the report further said.
