Meet the man who beat ten inmates at chess
Melbourne – A chess champion played ten games of chess blindfolded against Cook County jail inmates and won all the games.
The chess grandmaster, Timur Gareev, sat in front of ten different chess boards with a black bandanna over his eyes, but still triumphed over every single opponent, News.com.au reported.
Gareev participated in the program started by county Sheriff Tom Dart who believes that chess teaches inmates not to seek “instant gratification” and to think before acting, which is aimed at helping the inmates “think things through”.
