London – Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has been shortlisted alongside shot putter Valerie Adams and hurdler Zuzana Hejnova for the World Athlete of the Year award in the female category.

According to the Mirror, Fraser-Pryce won gold medals in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay at August’s world championships in Moscow.

New Zealand’s twice Olympic champion Adams collected a fourth world title in the Russian capital, the report said.

Czech Republic’s Hejnova broke 53 seconds for the first time in her career when she demolished the opposition to win the 400 metres hurdles title in Moscow, the report added.

The 2012 award was won by American Allyson Felix, who crashed out of the world 200m final won by Fraser-Pryce with a hamstring injury, the report further said.

Jamaican sprint superstar Usain Bolt and British long-distance hero Mo Farah have been named on the shortlist for this year’s male Athlete of the Year award, according to the report.
