Lucknow –  Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal hit back at Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, and said he could not understand how the Gujarat Chief Minister could run for the top office of the country without addressing national issues.

Agarwal also said that Modi’s allegations against the Samajwadi Party were baseless, and accused him of looting Gujarat.

“I cannot understand if the Bharatiya Janata Party has put up Narendra Modi as their prime ministerial candidate for the nation or a village. If Narendra Modi aspires to be the Prime Minister of the nation, then he should tell the people what his stance is on Pakistan, China and terrorism; women, unemployment and the depreciation in the rupee are also issues that the country is faced with. Modi is not talk on real issues,” Agarwal said on Friday.

On Friday, Narendra Modi took a jibe at the Samajwadi Party at his rally in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, and accused the ruling state government of looting its people.

“These people are experts at looting. Ram Manohar Lohia (Samajwadi Party’s ideologue) would be ashamed of the Samajwadi Party’s deeds,” Modi said in Jhansi on Friday.

“The Congress’s arrogance, the Samajwadi Party’s dynastic politics and the BSP’s personality cult can’t fulfill the people’s aspirations. … The trinity of SABKA (SA: Samajwadi Party, B: Bahujan Samaj Party, KA: Congress) has destroyed Uttar Pradesh,” Modi added while persuading voters to vote for the BJP in the next election.

Urging the people to vote for the BJP, Modi said that his party would change the face of the country if given 60 months of service at the Centre in a way that the Congress’ 60 years of power could not imagine.

BJP President Rajnath Singh and senior party member Uma Bharti were also present at the party’s election campaign rally in Jhansi on Friday.
